2017 Beat The Backlist: TBR

How exciting is it to get your hands on a newly released book, even more so when it’s not even been published yet!? There are so many books published every day that I fear some of the older books on my shelf won’t ever get read. So I thank Misty @ Mistysbookspace for bringing the 2017 Beat the Backlist Reading Challenge to my attention. This challenge is hosted by Austine @ novelknight, and is focused on knocking off titles that have been on your TBR for a while and it runs for the entire year. The only rule is the books must be released prior to 2017.

To really clear my backlist, I’m only focusing on books I own that have been released in or prior to the 90’s. While I may have the newer editions, I’m going by when they were first published. I’m aiming to read one book from the list each month. If I manage to read all 12 books before the end of the year, I’ll pat myself on the back and update it. It seems totally do-able right, wrong, have you seen some of the amazing titles due to be released next year, not to mention the fantastic titles released in the last few years.

To me this challenge is more of a reminder of the older books I own and I’m hoping by sharing this post (and sticking the list of books on my wall so I don’t forget) I’ll actually read some of them. In no particular order, I give you my:

A few of these books are listed in the Amazon 100 Crime Books and Thrillers to Read in a Lifetime challenge I’m also completing so that ticks two boxes.
