I’m so excited to be part of the Blog Tour for Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson, and share my review with you all. And I’m not going to conclude my review with a release date months away, this stellar read is on sale right now!

My Thoughts:

What everybody wants to know this January is: who killed Audrey Marshall?

Kate agreed to an apartment exchange with Corbin, her cousin, whom she’s never met. She moves to Boston and he moves to London for 6 months. Kate had recently experienced a traumatic ordeal and saw her move to America as a fresh start, what Kate didn’t plan on finding out on her arrival in Boston, is that Corbin’s neighbour, Audrey Marshall, was missing?

For some reason, Kate can’t get Audrey out of her head, and this turns into an almost obsession once she learns Audrey is dead and the police are treating it as suspicious. Kate suffers from anxiety and has been diagnosed with fantasy-prone disorder, she’s constantly picturing the worst-case scenario, to put it in a politer way she is “simply too imaginative.” Did her cousin kill Audrey then take off to London? But he’s not the only suspect, surely, what about the other residents in the apartment block, how imaginative is too imaginative, is Bob, the doorman, a murder? Is Kate’s imagination in overdrive, or is her every fear about to be realised?

For me, this book falls in both the mystery category and the thriller one. And let me tell you, the thrills in this one really are psychological! Each of the main characters has a story, a past, and more importantly, Swanson gives us an eerie insight into how they view the world. In alternating viewpoints (sometimes of the same events), we get an insight into each of their minds – an insight into the mind of a killer, now there’s your thrill!

To say I was pleasantly surprised by this book would be an understatement, I was blown away by it. Swanson shows off his great writing abilities in this new release. After a book as great as The Kind Worth Killing, questions are asked, can Mr Swanson deliver again? The answer is an almighty YES! This book is a slow-burner, which is fitting for this story as it allows you to get swallowed up in the mystery; enjoying each page of the book as events unfold and the puzzle pieces fall into place. Her Every Fear is laced with tension, with its dark plot and deep, richly developed characters, this is an addictive read. Yes, Mr Swanson has shown us he can do both – write a great thriller and write a great mystery too! I urge you to read this book, surrender to the paranoia, the psychological mind game of Her Every Fear, I promise you won’t be disappointed!
