I’ve been tagged to do this one by a few of my fellow bloggers, most recently by Jo @ Jo’s Book Blog. Thank you all for tagging me, and apologies it’s taken me so long to get around to it. Interestingly, I’ve seen some detailed answers to these questions but Jo raised a very good point – the title of this tag is Rapid Fire so my answers should be short and sweet, preferably the first response that comes into my head after reading the question. So lets get right to it….
eBooks or physical books?
Physical (but I got mad love for my Kindle.)
Paperback or hardback?
Paperback when reading, hardback looks prettier on the shelf.
Online or in-store shopping?
Both
Trilogies or series?
Series
Heroes or villains?
Villains! (I also love a good anti-hero)
A book you want everyone to read.
Deep Down Dead by Steph Broadribb
Recommend an underrated book.
False Hearts by Laura Lam
The last book you finished.
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
Weirdest thing you’ve used as a book mark.
Errmm, why wouldn’t you use a bookmark!? I’ve got plenty, if you need one, let me know!
Used books – yes or no?
Yes, but they must be in really good condition.
Top three favourite genres?
Crime Fiction (and all its sub-genres)
Historical Fiction (especially when it involves a murder)
Horror
Borrow or Buy?
Both, but mainly buy.
Characters or plot?
Oooo, you caught me out with that one. I’d say both, but if one is weak and the other is strong, it can still work.
Short or long book?
Either
Long or short chapters?
Short
Name the first three books you think of.
A Judgement in Stone by Ruth Rendell
Cursed by Thomas Enger
Kill the Father by Sandrone Dazieri
Books that make you laugh or cry?
Laugh (dark humour/black comedy)
Our world or fictional worlds?
Our world
Do you ever judge a book by its cover?
Always!
Book to movie or book to TV adaptation?
Book to movie.
Series or standalone?
Both
I tag:
Everyone who hasn’t yet done this tag!
I hope that was rapid fiery enough! Until next time – have a wonderfully bookish day!!
Ooooh I might have to do this one?!
Do you mind? 🙂

Much more succinct than me – I was def guilty of too much detail (I don’t get out much 😁😁) It was fun to do though

Haha, when I first looked at this tag, I had paragraphs to write but once I read Jo’s tag, I thought hmm, rapid, let’s do it this way. Plus I’d just written 3 book reviews before typing this so I was pretty much burnt out!

I have False Hearts on my TBR! I’ve heard fantastic things about, so I can’t wait to actually read it.

It was one of my top reads of 2016, I freakin’ loved it. I’m not usually a sci-fi fan but this, I LOVED! Orphan Black meets Inception – a 5 star crime thriller!!

I prefer short books with short chapters… Longer books intimidate me XD

Don’t not fear the big book! Or read it as an ebook then you can’t see all the pages still waiting to be read 😂

Ha ha! I really struggled to keep my answers short on this one 🙂

Great answers – I really love A Judgement in Stone as it has one of the best first lines of a book, especially for crime fiction.

Funnily enough, I was having a discussion in Waterstones, with my brother, about best book opening lines. I asked a member of staff and he said he thought A Judgement in Stone and thats I should read it because it’s really good and his all-time fav book, that’s how I ended up reading it and now it’s one of my favourite books of all time too!

Great answers! I love my Kindle to pieces but there’s nothing like turning your head and seeing those books lining up on shelves.
