April 2017 #WrapUp

Coming to you a day late is April’s wrap up – I was a day early with my book haul post so maybe the universe wanted to restore some balance, yin and yang and all that jazz!

This month I read a total of 13 books; some I managed to review in April, the rest will follow this month – which works out well as it’s coursework and exam season at uni, so I won’t be able to read as much so these scheduled reviews will keep my blog ticking nicely over [while I’m stressing out over my lack of knowledge on the human anatomy, damn you biology exam!] Right, back to the wrap up….

The Good:

The standout 5 star reads of the month were:

Block 46 by Johana Gustawsson, quite possibly my favourite book of the year so far and will definitely feature in my Top Ten Books of 2017 – review to follow as part of the blog tour on 3rd May.

Making a Case for Innocence: True Stories of a Criminal Defense Investigator by April Higuera, a great True Crime read for those interested in the [failings of the] criminal justice system – reviewed here.

The Color Purple by Alice Walker – review to follow as soon as I can fathom a review worthy of this book!
